The European Pet Food Industry Federation (FEDIAF), an authoritative body in Europe's pet food sector, is the acronym for "Fédération Européenne de l'Industrie des Aliments pour Animaux Familieurs" in French.

As a trade organization, it represents national pet food industry associations across multiple European countries, covering approximately 95% of European pet food manufacturers. Its mandate is to provide scientific and compliant guidance to the pet food industry, EU authorities, and pet owners.

FEDIAF has issued numerous guidelines spanning all aspects of pet food production, including the Good Practice Guide for Safe Pet Food Production, Good Practice Guide for Pet Food Communication, and Nutrition Guidelines for Dog and Cat Food. Although not a regulatory body, its guidelines are recognized by the European Commission, widely adopted, and have become industry standards.

One of its objectives is to ensure the safety and nutritional quality of pet food through industry self-regulation. FEDIAF's nutrition guidelines are established based on recommendations from the National Research Council (NRC) and recent scientific research, serving as the mainstream standard for Europe's pet food industry and drawing attention and reference from other countries and regions.

As of 2024, FEDIAF represents the national pet food industry associations of the EU, Norway, Switzerland, and the UK, voicing the perspectives and interests of approximately 150 European pet food companies.
